Certain problems are spoken about during family therapy. During the process, members of the family begin to express themselves, and they will work towards a healthier lifestyle, connecting with one another once again. A therapist may give parents tasks to do during the week outside of the sessions. This will help them manage their kids and deal with the issues that they are having problems with. It can relate to discipline or taking responsibilities in the home. It can be something that they are having with at home. A parent may be asked to assign duties to the child. They may have to take the child out to a movie or the park where they connect with them.

Kids will also get special attention when they are referred to a child psychologist or a play therapist. This is something that parents can think of doing when they have behavioural symptoms or they find that they are acting out of the ordinary. It is important to be aware of certain signs.
