They are the procedures and processes which are applied in measuring rock magnetism. This is their major function although they can assist in finding non-magnetic minerals such as gold. In many years, they have been applied in locations that are likely to have iron ore existence. It was a coincidence finding gold using the procedures. Here is what you need to know about a ground magnetic survey company

Ground magnetic surveys are beneficial in identifying magnets below rocks. In many cases, they try to find general rocks that have magnet-attraction-ability like magnetite and iron sulfide. An iron ore is a location where the two metals are identified in huge quantities and clean form. It is important being aware that there are specific iron sulfides with a high probability of having gold. Thus, identification of these substances will help in finding a huge amount of gold. This is something that is quite valuable.

Ground magnetic surveys are also utilized to understand the underlying rocks general structure, identifying faults as well as folds otherwise hidden underside cover rocks as well for identifying demagnetized zones that are associated with hydrothermal activity.

Magnetic rocks are destroyed by hydrothermal activities. As time passes by, ordinary rocks that are capable to attract magnet are demagnetized by heat. In case of this occurrence, rocks in demagnetized regions are not recognized using the ordinary magnet-attraction-ability survey. This will require a regional level aeromagnetic survey. The good thing about this procedure is that it is sophisticated which enables it to recognize deposits of gold.

The survey using magnetism is usually done by two operators. They virtually walk across the study area. Therefore, for this task fitness is paramount. The objective is walking across the landscape in a straight line amidst some obstacles. Bigger obstructions can happen in areas having big vegetation and other risks like scorpions and snakes. In these landscapes, the operators should walk slowly and pay close attention and concentrate more. This job gets easier in the level grounds since the operators can even walk to fifteen kilometers per day.

Technology plays its part as each operator walks across the area of interest armed with a magnetometer and GPS. Any changes on the earths field that able to attract magnet are recorded along the extended side of each line that an operator has walked along. The GPS readings are also recorded keenly and the plotted area marked as accurately as possible. The few obstructions are negligible and do not affect the results.

Different colors are used by the operator to mark the paths they have walked on. The magnet-attraction-ability field changes which are recorded on the paths of the individual operator will aid in the accurate analysis of the field. If there are considerable changes in the landscape and elevation is identified by GPS. The unrefined data is captured in computer software. This will help in developing a three dimensions model of the surveyed area. Operation station is developed for each survey which helps in recording changes of the magnet-attraction-abled field.

When the fieldwork has been completed, a geophysicist will interpret the information. The specialist will segregate artifacts from human processes and natural phenomenon studies. The data will be scientific and artistic.
