The primary reason counseling is recommended in a workplace can to an extent be considered a selfish reason. All employers are interested in the performance and productivity of their personnel. They are in that line of business to produce, and often have tight deadlines that must be met, with few staff present to perform the work at hand. If the staff is anxious or unhappy, they are not able to perform their jobs. When it comes to counselling Surrey BC employees will be taught relaxation techniques meant to help them overcome any anxiety that they could be experiencing.

Each company has to make sure that it is making the best use of the resources that are available to it. Failure to do so could lead to wrong use or inability to maximize the potential of each employee. The only way to make sure that this will not happen will, therefore, be to make psychotherapy services available to personnel who may require these services.

In any organization, there will be different people present who can be able to offer advice to people who need it. Information can be provided by an experienced colleague, training manager or even the human resources managers. The human resources managers get to interact with people on a regular basis, and will, therefore, be well placed to provide any advice that a member of staff may require.

Different situations may arise making it vital for an employee to get counseled. An employee may, for instance, engage in behavior that could expose them to sexually transmitted diseases. This is a problem which could cause the employee to undergo grief and trauma and, therefore, impact his or her productivity.

Some issues may also be directly linked to the workplace. Such matters may include those dealing with career development, performance, discipline, transfers or even redeployment. You may also find that bosses have a problem relating to their junior personnel.

A member of staff dealing with such an issue may at one point end up requesting for time off from work. In some cases, some will also end up getting afflicted with conditions such as high blood pressure or even ulcers. Taking time off from work means that the organization will lose in many ways. For instance, it may be forced to cover the medical expenses of the sick personnel, and also, be unable to meet all the deadlines that it had set.

You will also find that some will choose to look for an alternative place of work while others decide to agitate for career changes. When such a thing happens, the organization is forced to recruit and train new personnel. The recruitment and training exercises are not only time-consuming, but they also tend to be very expensive.

It is recommended that organizations ensure that they have a member of staff who has been trained on how to offer counseling services. Having such a member on staff goes a long way in making sure that the personnel is happy and content at all times. Also, no time is wasted on sick leave.
