If you want to varnish your floor, there are companies that have come up with guidelines so that you can have a better understanding of the process of varnishing the floors. The steps may differ from company to company, but the overall procedure is the same. Floors that have not been burnished will have a coating or adhesives that will have to be removed by the use of machines. Below are the guidelines on Florida Commercial Polished Concrete

The machine uses rough diamonds that are made of metal. If the aggregate present in the floor has been exposed, the burnish from the first pour has to be removed too. This process is a bit complex than many people think thus it requires technicians that are both qualified and experienced.

The initial stage is to grind the surface. However, the technicians must first perform a test to check the hardness of the floor so that they can select the best diamond tools to use. This is an important step that has to be done. Then, the diamond tooling is put in the grinder and grinding is commenced. Any repairs should be done during this stage.

When grinding has been finished, the application of stains followed by densifier is made. When the top layer is removed, the floor becomes weak thus applying the densifier makes it hard again. It is important to note that the stain should be applied first and left to dry before applying the densifier. The slab should left wet for approximately 20-30 minutes before proceeding to the next step.

After a few minutes, honing is done on floors after making sure that the densifier has dried. Diamond pads that have grit close to 500 are used for this process. After some minutes, one can observe a glossy mirror-like look on the surface. However, it can take longer before the glossiness starts to appear hence making the technicians work for longer hours than usual.

Varnishing the slab is now done using more diamond pads with higher grits to make the floor smooth. The slab is made smooth depending on how the customer has requested. Some customers would like the floors to have a gleaming mirror-like appearance while others prefer floors that have moderate shining that will not be too shiny.

Polishing pads are used to finish the varnishing process giving the slab the required degree of smoothness. This step requires one to be patient so that they can achieve the desired results. Also, the technicians that you hire should have certification to show that they are qualified so that they do not perform sub-standard work on your floor thus one has to ensure a lot of care when hiring them.

If the steps are followed to the latter, you will end up with a perfectly varnished floor. However, as stated earlier, the steps may vary from company to company thus it is important that you follow the guidelines provided by the company that you have selected to do the job but the end products are usually the same.
