Pavements and driveways that are made of components containing asphalt are applied a liquid sealer or a sealcoat as a method of protecting the length of their use. Although there has been no solid research that proofs the effectiveness of this mechanism, it has been applied for a long time. For parking lots, striping is done once paving has been done and sealcoat has been applied. It is, therefore, wise to experts on Parking Lot Sealcoating and Striping Central Alabama when undertaking to construct asphalt-based structures.

With damages caused by degradation resulting from elements like oil, water, friction and UV light, repairs may be generally very costly. This warrants the application of seal coats to prevent cracks, loss of appeal and brittleness. Sealcoats are usually of bituminous or acrylics content. Asphalt is commonly used to glue the materials used in construction to help in binding the components although it is usually susceptible to damages hence the need for a sealer.

Contractors have made a preference to the tar based sealers over other sealers because of its high level of water and chemical resistance. It is a byproduct of refined coal and is often more advantageous. It is able to withstand UV rays due to its chemical structure and protects the surface for longer periods. Other sealers include the asphalt- based and the petroleum-based which is also beneficial in their own ways.

This process should be done after the area is ensured to be clean and completely dry. A dirty surface will result in poor adhesion. It is often a two coat process that takes one to two days, preferably during warm seasons so as to avoid the rain. The seal coat is sprayed throughout the area preferably sixty square feet per gallon per coat.

The required time to allow the coat is dry is a day but it may vary according to the climatic season. In order to maintain an appealing parking lot, replication of the sealcoat should be reapplied every three years or less depending on the type of materials used in its construction. This will prolong its durability.

Not only do they offer professional sealcoating application but as well handle the techniques of stripping the pavement. Striping usually entails painting the lines across lots to guarantee the safety of the vehicles. Again, it enhances its appeal.

As much as the paint can be soaked into the pavement making it appear as a thin strip, it is more preferable to apply two thin layers rather than a thick layer as too much paint can damage the pavement. The standard drying time is thirty minutes and it is recommended the area to be restriped once every two years.

These activities may be a costly way to protect you driveways and other pavements but it is beneficial in offering a protective mechanism for it. It reduces a number of repairs needed and therefore reducing the overall costs of construction in the long run.
