When people die, there are various ways on how the body can be disposed of. The style of disposal may be drawn for the deceased will, law, situation, and culture among other concepts. This process involves some few steps. The first step is the body preparation. This involves obtaining of the permit and from relevant authorities the same manner as that of burial. The amount of time of carrying out the complete process may vary due to certain factors. These include the size and the weight of the corpse intended to be cremated. Also, it is expected that rigid muscular bodies will burn at a slower rate than bodies that are fatty. The ashes are then given to the family.

Body composition also affects time spent. For instance, muscular bodies will spend more time than fatty bodies. Fats burn easily and readily. The temperatures in the chamber, the effectiveness of the equipment, casket material are also factors that affect process time.
