The uses of printers go beyond just work and school as its also very beneficial for people who have a passion for arts and crafts. This is why many people do not hesitate to buy printers along with their computers for the multitudinous uses that it serves. They also make sure that they go for one of high caliber because they see it as an investment.

However, there are times that printers act up and all you want to do is just smash them on the floor but then you remember that you would basically end up with nothing to use if you do so. Many people think that acquiring printer repair Jersey City services is the first thing that they should do but it really is not. Before deciding to spend money to have it fixed, channel your inner technical representative self and try these troubleshooting steps for common printer problems.

Slow printing. Admit it, no matter the brand and type, some of these things just act up and print too slow. Okay so when trying to fix this problem on your own, check on the printer properties and find the option that reduces its print quality. This can even save you ink, but if such does not work, you might want to add a RAM to your little buddy.

One may also check to see if it is plugged into a fast port at the back of your CPU. Also, try to steer away from reducing a large material from two pages to fit in one because this can also affect the speed that your device is printing on. Images and graphics will also cause it to slow down so make sure to reduce the amount of such that you are going to print, especially when unnecessary.

Wrong device. If you have ever clicked the print button, waited and ended up with nothing, like not even a blank bond paper, then your computer may have sent the job to the wrong one. Check if the printer is turned on or properly connected to the PC. If not, do the necessary adjustments.

However, when it still does not work, one can try checking if the printer name and the device you are using is set as default to which your computer sends the jobs to is the same. If not, change the default and check. There are times that the PC, for some unknown reason, selects a different equipment so look out for that.

Bad quality. Results that look cloudy or have lines and spots on them are very common especially for inkjets which are not used often so the ink dries out. One may want to check the properties of the device to see if it is on high quality. If not, change it and try printing again.

If it still does not work, look for the utility tool that is built in on some devices. This cleans out dried up ink and allows you to do a test print for inspection. If it works, good. If it does not, check for availability of ink on cartridge.

When stuff like these occurs, do not panic and instead be calm to try and read the manual that came with the equipment when you bought it. Try some basic troubleshooting steps that were mentioned here or those that are found in the said manual. Call repair services if you cannot first aid such problems.
