With all the different job and career sites now available, it can be difficult to decipher has the best online job posting. In addition, when looking for online jobs whether full-time or part-time, there are often a number of scams. So, whether looking for a job or online money making opportunity, it pays to research all companies and opportunities of interest.

For the career minded, sites like Dice, Indeed and Monster are often the best bets for finding higher paying career oriented positions. Whereas, sites like craigslist, SimplyHired and Yahoo Jobs are often better for jobs which pay minimum or just over minimum wage. If there is a local entertainment guide or newspaper in the area, most will host an online classified section which often includes a number of job listings.

While the internet has grown over time, some job oriented sites have disappeared. In most cases, it is because two or more sites have merged since first appearing online. In others, it is because the company or organization in charge of the website no longer exist. Still, with sites like CollegeRecruiter and other school related sites, many current and past graduates and students have still been able to find work.

Those considered part of a minority group may want to check out sites like DiversifyJobs and others. Beyond these, there are several sites which are based on membership. These sites are often related to professional careers such as CPAs, doctors, lawyers and professors and provide listings for a nominal membership fee.

LinkedIn can also be beneficial in helping members obtain work. For, not only does LinkedIn provide a job board, individuals can also network with contacts to determine if any jobs exist at target companies. Then, the individuals can connect and discuss a position before the job seeker files an application.

Indeed and Dice are two favorites for individuals working in the Internet Technology field. There are also other categories and postings though there is a great deal of focus on computer engineering, programming, technical writing and other related employment. In addition, a number of contractors and sub-contractors use these sites to find additional contract or temporary help in the administrative, legal, medical and scientific fields.

Still, whether looking for a lifetime career or part-time job, these sites can often be beneficial in helping job seekers. Many of these organizations also provide tables at local job fairs. As such, it often pays to peruse local listings for career and job fairs as many employers often interview and hire on the spot at these events.

Whether working at home or away, it is important that individuals be detail oriented, dependable and work well with others. In some cases, it will be necessary that an individual be able to work independently or as part of a team. Whatever the case, it is always important to follow company policies and guidelines while presenting oneself in a professional manner.
