After locating a suitable replacement needle, it can worth buying a few if they are available. All record player cartridges or styluses will suffer wear after a period of time and you should keep some spares for future replacements. When you are not installing a new stylus to your record deck immediately, then it should be kept in the packaging to prevent it from damage or loss.
