It is not always easy to grow any type of a plant without the necessary knowledge and skill and this is the reason why they mostly die off immaturely. This can be the same result when you attempt to plant succulents without having any knowledge on how to do it well. Below are some useful secrets on growing succulents that you should follow when you want to grow them in the right manner indoors.

These plants do well in dry air and therefore it is advisable to ensure they are exposed to this dry air indoors. If you are based in an area where the climate is usually humid, ensure that you leave the plants to go dry completely before you water them. Their spongy leaves will hold enough water for the plant to utilize as it is a characteristic they have to cope with the dry desert conditions.

Ensure that they will be exposed to sunshine often daily since they thrive well when they get lots of sunlight. You should make sure that you do not place them in rooms that are dimly-lit as they will start stretching out and bend in search of sunlight and you should therefore change their positions. Ensure that you place them in conditions that are almost like the conditions they are used to in dry areas.

In order to grow them indoors well without them dying off you should consider experimenting with different kinds of these plants. They are not always the same as some will, thrive well indoors while others may not do so well. It is advisable to start experimenting with those that have big green leaves as their chances of surviving are higher than the purple, gray or blue leaved succulents.

Ensure that they are able to breathe easily while indoors by ensuring that they have adequate space to breathe. They are only able to survive well in crowded compositions when outside but when it gets to indoors the situation gets tricky. Space them well in order for every plant to enjoy the maximum sunlight exposure.

When selecting the pots to plant them in ensure that you settle for the ones that come with a good hole at the bottom for drainage purposes. Make sure that you also choose the soils that have the best drainage to avoid instances where they become soggy at all. Consult wide in order to know the right soil to purchase and use for the planting purpose.

As far as watering these plants is concerned, you should only do it when the soil gets dry. This could be once in a week when the weather is very hot and this rate should be decreased slowly as the weather cools with time. You should also take great care when watering to ensure that you only water the soil and not the plant as it is possible to leave some water on the leaves which could cause rotting or ugly marks.

They are bothered by a low number of pests and diseases. Ensure that you apply an adequate insecticide immediately you notice any mealy bugs or aphids. Do not use moist leaf letter to mulch them as pebbles or stone are the best to use.
