Work on building your audience's trust over time before you start marketing products to them.

Having lots of traffic to your site will help in your affiliate marketing efforts. This is because the products you are promoting will be seen by more people thereby, increasing the chances that some of this traffic will convert into actual sales. For this to be highly effective, you need to have targeted traffic that is interested in whatever it is that you are promoting. This will require that you focus on one single niche at a time.

Instead of just posting links all over your website and hoping that people will click on them, it helps to place your links within a certain context. Try promoting the products within the context of a blog post. Focus on providing useful information to your audience in regards to the product. This includes how to use it and its various advantages and disadvantages. This will help to give your audience an overall perspective on how purchasing the product is going to impact them.

It is always advisable to use multiple platforms when running home based business ideas. This increases the exposure that your products get. You will be able to reach people who prefer to use different platforms online. For instance, you can promote your links and blog posts on your social media platforms.

Banner ads can also work great in complementing your blog posts. Post banner ads which have your affiliate links on the sides of your website. Only post a few banners since too many of them can make your site look unattractive. Moreover, don't post ads that advertise products that are almost similar as this can confuse potential clients on what to buy and what to leave out.

Feature some of the posts with links on them on your home page. You can use the featured post widget on your site to make the post a sticky, so that it can be seen and accessed from any page on your site. This will boost chances of people reading the articles and clicking on your links.
