The idea of flight have fascinated mans imagination since the time of ancients. The image of birds flying gave people a great longing. The longing of being able to fly in the sky as they did. The beauty and grace had inspired many to try and create an imitation or something bird like to taste the freedom that being able to fly provide. In turn, people tried to create machines that flew.

Aviations history is long and tried. Many, many types were created in an attempt to, not only conquer the seas but also conquer the sky as well. With the contributions in using Roto Peening Erie Pa available, many propellers and engines were made with great care and had good craftsmanship on the ones that were made.

The stories that involve mans dream of achieving flight are quite numerous in history and mythology. One such example is of Icarus and Daedalus of Greek mythology. In the story, Daedalus was an inventor for the kind of Crete, Minos. Daedalus was sent into prison and to escape, He and his son, Icarus, had created wax wings order to fly away because Crete had been an island. The feet had been successful and Daedalus was able to get away.

Various designs were found as far back as 400 BC in Greece. An inventor from the ancient city state had built an flying device that was shaped like a bird and was propelled by a jet propulsion device. This was said to be first of its kind and the first ever flying apparatus actually built. The machine was said to fly at two hundred meters and was suspended in mid air during its test flight.

Gliders were attempted to be made during the 9th century. This was recorded as first made attempt in creating a gliders but it was not the first, as one was also attempted in 11th century as well. Do to how primitive technology was back then, the designs for these gliders had not being create and ended up injuring the pilots. Several models were made but 1853 was the first year in became a success.

1799 was an event that helped moved the development of airplane in modern conversation. The designs were laid out for new winged machines that had a separate control and landing unit as well. After that many newer designs were created and tested out in order to find out what prototype would work and its main one was on 1803.

On 1856, a Frenchman had created a new system. The thing made is referred to as the first powered flier glider and it was pulled by horse on a beach to provide it with the necessary push for it to fly and make some distance. Another invention in 1883 came to light as an American had made a glider that could be controlled during flight.

During the 19 century, a large aircraft was built and had a test run. This aircraft had weighed 3.5 tons, and was heavy for that time period. With it was twin engines that was tucked away in propellers and had an incredible wingspan of 34 meters wide. The biggest problems it encountered was that it could not be, in any way controlled. Thus this would only last for a single test drive and no more.

These advancements eventually lead to modern planes being created. With the Wright brothers making the test bed, modern airplanes were soon introduced. Now in modern times, a plane ride is a common way of getting around.
